Life Changing Experience!
Well, sort of. I just changed my mares bit from an Eggbutt snaffle to a loose-ring Cherry Roller. The difference is amazing!
If you are trying to get your horse to become softer in the mouth and more accepting of the bit, this is definitely one to try!

Keeping Fit!
Recently, as a rider I've felt that it is my responsibility to become fitter. I always knew that if I was fitter than I would be able to be a better rider but I've never acted upon it until now!
Just got back from a 3 mile (yeah, feeble I know) run with my dog as my running partner! I'm tired, but I feel fitter already & I have been doing this once/twice per day for around a week.
A friend introduced me to Endomondo, which is amazing! It's an app which allows you to track workouts, monitor speed/pace/calories and lots of other cool things which makes getting fit easier, including sharing on Facebook which is great for motivation!
Hopefully I will be a better rider when I get back to college in September!
Job interview tomorrow also, fingers crossed ;)

Equine Careers!
Hiiiiiiiii!
So I've been thinking about this a lot lately, what am I going to do after college? Obviously I'm going to have to decide at some point so it's never to early to start! I've been getting pretty interested in farriery a lately, also in Equine Veterinary Science, or Performance/Rehabilitation, in short, I HAVE NO IDEA!

Hartpury Showjumping Spectacular 2010!
The Hartpury Showjumping Spectacular runs from the 10th-12th December during the run up to Olympia! Stars such as Ben Maher, James Billington & Sam Hutton took part in the bronze & silver tour, not to mention Tim Stockdale & William Funnell! However, no Whitaker's due to the Gold Tour being cancelled! Boo.
I was in the arena party for the duration of the spectacular which meant I had to run in & rebuild demolished fences & reassemble them when poles were knocked down! Pretty fun :D Although tiring in some classes!
The view from the corner
I had an awesome weekend! The best bits were definitely getting to see Showjumping from a different account, & not just on the TV! Also, sitting next to Tim Stockdale at breakfast went down pretty well! I'd recommend working the Spectacular to any future or existing students, not only is it great work experience, it's great fun! Whilst I was on my dinner break, I also bought some amazing gaiters & boots from Equine Showbiz & picked up some treacle treat samples from Fab-Horses, hope Lolly likes them!

Christmas Countdown Begins!
A lot has happened in the past week or so, the temperature has dropped to way below freezing so wrapping up warm is essential! I can't step out of the door without wearing 2 coats, 2 pairs of trousers & a scarf!
I've had 2 great riding lessons this week. I rode a beautiful skewbald mare named Mo on Tuesday, by the end of the lesson she was in a nice round outline, working really well & responding good to turning about the forehand, & I rode a huge Blanket Spot Appaloosa today named Apache, being as it was the last lesson of the term due to all the horses going home for Christmas, we got to have a gallop! We did light seat in trot & canter too.
I got a bit stressed earlier due to some alterations I had to make to an assignment, but all is good now! A great week :) home soon!
